We care about the health, safety and wellbeing of our people
Safety is and always will be our top priority. We recognise that our success relies on delivering quality projects, on time, on budget and above all, safely.
The health, safety and wellbeing of our people can never be taken for granted. Every member of our team, regardless of job role, has an important part to play in executing our aim for zero harm in the workplace. We all have a responsibility to ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of our colleagues, our site operatives and the people within the communities in which we work.
By working together, looking out for one another and having the confidence to challenge behaviours, acting when we feel something doesn’t look or feel safe, we will maintain a safe, healthy and positive operating environment.
The construction industry is an inherently deadline-driven, busy working environment – we understand that, at times, this can be pressurised and stressful - we need to ensure that the effect of this environment on our employees is carefully managed.
As well as focusing on occupational health and safety, Chas Berger supports the “Time to Change” campaign which aims to raise awareness of mental health and remove the stigma around mental health issues. Cases of mental health within the construction industry continue to rise at an alarming rate, particularly among male employees – as a business, we regard the mental health of our employees as a priority.
We take guidance from mental health organisations in order to monitor and improve the mental wellbeing of all our employees, with structured training to raise awareness of potential signs of stress in those around us and empowering managers to understand how to tackle such issues and concerns.
